I started compiling reference material of cows and chickens along with a photo of the clients dog. I used that to sketch out in Procreate the shape and layout of each animal in black and white. I then brought it into Photoshop and assembled a color pallet from my reference images and finalized the line work. I added texture and depth with custom Photoshop brushes to make the design feel more refined and 3D. I created this for the client to represent her family. She was expecting her first baby and her nursery theme was cows. I created her and her husband as chickens since that is her favorite animal, added their child as a cute cow. I drew their dog Oakleigh to make it even more personal.
