I started by creating a synopsis of the movie and coming up with a name. After researching movie posters and word marks I created the word mark in illustrator with a classic serif font and a swooping embellishment. The scene was created in Photoshop by layering forest and foggy tree images to create a depth of field, with a singular mountain in the background. Placing bright futuristic buildings into the scene as a focus gives it a sci-fi element and draws attention. I blended the buildings in with a custom tree brush to add to the forest depth. After adding the appropriate credits, tagline and production logos to the poster I decided to turn it into a night scene to add the emphasis to the movie tag line. With this I had to switch out the original mountain and sky and use painting and masking layers to add more glow to the buildings.
